Take on a central finance leadership role within a leading event services group, overseeing general ledger integrity and closing activities to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting while strengthening controls across the organization.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead the general ledger and closing function, ensuring the Group’s financial statements are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. You will manage month-end and year-end closing cycles, review reconciliations and consolidations, and safeguard the integrity of financial data. Partnering closely with internal stakeholders and auditors, you will ensure alignment with IFRS, internal policies, and best practice. You will also drive continuous improvements in accounting processes, internal controls, and system efficiency to support a scalable and well-governed finance environment.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Lead and manage month-end and year-end closing activities with strict adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Review and approve general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation workings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure GL accounts are properly maintained, with clear documentation, appropriate supporting schedules, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal controls, and system efficiencies to strengthen financial governance across the Group.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, facilitating audits and ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Collaborate with other finance teams (FP&A, treasury, tax, etc.) to support accurate reporting, reconciliations, and group consolidation.
- Identify process risks, propose control enhancements, and contribute to finance transformation and system improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- This position is open to UAE Nationals only.
- An MBA degree in Finance is required (or equivalent advanced finance qualification).
- 8+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with strong exposure to general ledger management and closing activities.
- Proven experience in GL, audit, consolidation, and the use of accounting/ERP software in a corporate or group environment.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and internal control frameworks, with a track record of ensuring compliance and control effectiveness.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet tight closing deadlines.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
Certifications (Desirable)
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA are an advantage.
- Additional training or certification in IFRS, internal controls, or audit is beneficial.
Salary & Role Details

Salary / Compensation: AED 32,000 per month, depending on experience and profile.
