About the Role
In this role, you will handle day-to-day trade operations for ferrous and non-ferrous commodities, with a particular focus on break-bulk shipments. You will manage the full trade lifecycle from contract execution through to shipment, documentation, and payment realization. Working closely with traders, logistics providers, banks, and counterparties, you will ensure that all letters of credit, bills of lading, and related documents are accurate, compliant, and processed within tight timelines. Your expertise in UCP, LC structures, and shipping documentation will help minimize risk, avoid discrepancies, and support smooth physical and financial flows.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Manage end-to-end trade operations for ferrous and non-ferrous cargoes, including break-bulk shipments, from contract to final payment.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate all trade documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates, etc.) in line with LC terms and UCP guidelines to avoid discrepancies.
- Handle issuance, amendment, and negotiation of letters of credit, working closely with banks and ensuring timely document presentation and payment realization.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and logistics partners for vessel bookings, shipment schedules, and timely release of BLs and related documents.
- Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve operational issues, and keep traders and internal stakeholders updated on cargo status and key milestones.
- Maintain accurate records and reconciliations for each trade, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Contribute to process improvements in trade operations, documentation workflows, and systems to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in trade operations within commodity trading, preferably handling ferrous and/or non-ferrous products and break-bulk shipments.
- Strong working knowledge of UCP rules, letters of credit (LC), and bills of lading (BL), with hands-on experience handling LC documentation and bank presentations.
- Familiarity with international shipping practices, Incoterms, and trade documentation processes.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines in a trading environment.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with traders, banks, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders.
Certifications (Desirable)
- Professional certifications in trade finance, international trade, or shipping/logistics.
- Any additional training related to UCP, LC operations, or documentary credits.
Salary & Role Details

Salary / Compensation: AED 15,000–20,000 per month plus benefits, depending on experience and profile.
