About this opportunity: Lead the core finance operations for a growing organization, managing AR, AP, and General Ledger activities to ensure accurate books, timely closings, and strong financial control.


About the Role

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations across Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and the General Ledger (GL). You will take ownership of timely and accurate postings, reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing activities, ensuring the financial statements reflect a true and fair view of the business. Working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, you will help maintain strong internal controls, streamline processes, and support audits and management reporting. You will also guide junior team members, providing direction and support across AR, AP, and GL workflows.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Manage end-to-end General Ledger (GL) operations, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) processes including invoicing, collections follow-up, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) activities including vendor invoice processing, payments, and supplier reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and supporting schedules and reports are complete and accurate.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and audit-ready trails across AR, AP, and GL.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and controls, contributing to a more efficient and robust finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5–9 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with strong exposure to AR, AP, and GL responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices for receivables, payables, and general ledger management.
  • Hands-on experience working with accounting/ERP software and Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to work to tight closing deadlines.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders and support junior team members.

Certifications (Desirable)

  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Additional training in IFRS, internal controls, or finance systems is beneficial.

Salary & Role Details

  • Salary / Compensation: AED 32,000 per month, depending on experience and profile.
  • Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (on-site/hybrid details to be discussed during the interview process).
  • Employment Type: Full-time.
  • Working Conditions / Schedule: Standard full-time schedule, with peak periods around month-end and year-end closings.
  • Other Details: Role focused on AR, AP, and GL management within the general finance function, supporting accurate reporting and strong financial controls.
